In 1986 at the age 20, joined Patel Roadways, satara, as loader due to poverty
-
In 1989 started transport business for local deliveries with the help of a small three wheeler after investment of Rs. 6000/- form savings

In 1990, added one more vehicle via second hand purchase of a mahindra FC, Unfortunately suffered heavy losses due to maintenance of the vehicle

In 1992 bought another vehicle , Bajaj Metador tempo by selling the earlier one. Started transportation of building material & scrap between mahabaleshwar & satara.

In 1993 purchased Tata 407 tempo by selling the Metador.

In 1994 added one more vehicle, Metador & with these two vehicle started transportation between satara & pune. The only driver was BABAN.

In the same year the business was expanded from Pune , Satara to Belgaum, with help of his wife and 2 relatives RAVI & MALAN.

In 1995, formed “AVINASH CARRIER “ & purchased Tata 709, after selling old Metedor.

In the same year, one more new vehicle “Tempo 608”, was purchased & added 4th service route to Palghar.

In 1998 Baban stoped driving & started running office form an STD Booth.

In 2000 regular office space was hired & the 1st branch office was opened at Satara; Pune branch started working through an STD Booth.

In 2001 two regular branch offices were started viz Belgaum & Pune.

In 2002 expanded branch network by adding 2 more offices at Kolhapur & new Mumbai & added 10 more vehicles.

In 2003 further expansion took place by adding 4 more branches Viz Bhiwandi, Andheri, Punecity & Tathawade & added 20 more vehicles. Company was registered under Company act 1956 as ‘AVINASH CARRIER PVT LTD’

In 2004 one more branch at Hubli was started.

In same year ‘CONTAINER DIVISION’ was introduced in Vashi to cater growing Export business, by adding 25 more vehicles.

In 2005 the business was accelerated by adding three new branches viz. Sangli, Chakan & Masjid Bunder by adding 30 more vehicles.

In 2006 further expanded business by adding 4 branches at Shirwal, Nasik, Aurangabad & Vasai & added 20 more vehicles.

A new venture “AVINASH SWIFT CARGO PVT LTD” started its operation from 1st May 2006 with a network of 18 branches and100 vehicles.

In the same year Mr. Baban Shelke received Rashtriya Nirman Ratna award from Indian Organization for business research and development at the hands of Mr. GVG Krishnamurthy, the former Election Commissioner.

In 2007, build own building for Head Office at Satara, MIDC.

In the same year, 4 new branches added in the network viz., Karad, Dombivali, Ranjangaon and Ambarnath.

In 2008, Avinash Enterprises - A new Venture Dealership of Road Tyres was started in Satara.

In the same year, added two more branches in the network, viz. Sinnar and Thane.

Keeping Qualitative growth as objective, started "GUNVANT KAMGAR AWARD DISTRIBUTION" in "DIPOSTAV" function, from the same year.

ERP was developed for total computerization of the system in the same year and brought into operation.

Lean and Six Sigma training given to employees and started Quality drive in the year 2007. "Quality" was put as most important objective.

In the same year, performance metrics were defined as Growth, Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost, and designed Key Performance Indicators for the whole organization.

In 2009 two new branches were added viz. Bengalore Yashwantpur and Pennya.

Build own building at Tathawade for Hub operation. Data Hub was also started at the same location.

Added two more branches viz. Pirangut (Pune) and JNPT (Navi Mumbai).

In 2010 two more branches added in Bengalore region viz. Bommasandra and Mysore Road.

Web based consignment tracking system was started.

Now the organization owns about 150 fleet and operates through more than 40 branches in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
